LDAPviewer provides a number of methods by which the user may either customize or extend the help system to provide users with precise and perhaps application specific information.
Modify Help Files. Either by replacing or adding content to existing help files.
Object Definition HTML Fragments. Allows additional or custom information (such as usage, context, data formats, etc) about objects to be displayed and formatted using HTML within the LDAPviewer View Object window.
Help Info. Allows the user to add attribute descriptions when using specialized editors.
Help Shells. Some attributes, espeially those used in system configuration, can take a complex number of parameters. The shell system allows external configuration files to contain shell or skeleton parametrs, under a user selected configuration style, that will populate the attribute and act as an memory jogger for the user.
While not part of the formal help system, custom HTML Forms (Templates) can be used to provide explanatory information as well as simply display Entry content.
